Obituary of Scott William Benton

Scott William Benton  10/5/65 - 5/25/17

Cherished son of Marilyn Johnson Benton and the late William Gerald Benton; brother of Susan Benton Lee, Steven Gerald Benton (Denice) and Sharon Benton Plewinski (Joseph) met his father in heaven on May 25, 2017. Scott was the favorite uncle of Jaime, Andrew and Michael Plewinski and Chas, Kevin (Ashley) and Brian Benton. 

Scott was a lifelong, active member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Devon, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Owen J. Roberts Middle School, Scott worked at Handicrafters in Thorndale, Pennsylvania for many years.  He will be remembered by his friends from Bournelyf Special Camp where he performed as a circus clown and attended overnight camps in Lancaster, Cape May and Chesapeake Bay.  

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at 9:30 am and services at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at St. John’s in Pennsylvania at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, family and friends would appreciate donations in Scott’s memory to Bournelyf Special Camp, 1066 S.
