Mary 'Eileen' Stansbury

Obituary of Mary 'Eileen' Stansbury

Mary “Eileen” Stansbury, (nee Dolan), of Grayslake, Illinois, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on September 12, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late Martin and Noreen (Ryan) Dolan of Waukegan, Illinois.  On February 2, 1963, she married John Stansbury from Cleveland, Ohio after knowing each other for six short months.  He was the love of her life for over 50 years.  They said their vows at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. They made their home in New York, Zion, Beach Park, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, and Kenosha, Twin Lakes, Wisconsin and Spring Grove, IL.

Her life was dedicated to her husband, raising her four children and enjoying her beautiful grandchildren.  She ventured out into the working force when her youngest son turned three.   She worked for many different companies but her favorites were Greenleaf Orthopedics as a cast room assistant and Octagon Hair Salon as a make-up artist.  She loved to be creative and exhibited her talents by making soft sculpt Cabbage Kids in the 1980’s with her father.  In the 90’s she designed and created Bridal Veils for local brides, some as far away as Colorado and New York.   She also took great pride in crocheting baby blankets for friends and relatives for their baby showers.

She is survived by her four children, Lisa (Bob) Chamernik of Twin Lakes Wisconsin, Diana (Tom ) Fish of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Martin (Dianne) Stansbury of Wadsworth, Illinois, Jon (Alie) Stansbury of Spring Grove, Illinois; 13 grandchildren Ryan and Rachael Connelly, Michael and Austin Chamernik, Jake, Cody, and Cole Anderson, Noah and Nathan Stansbury, Sophie Grace Stansbury, Benjamin Thomas Stansbury, Maisie Elizabeth Stansbury,  and one great grandchild, Liam Patrick Connelly, son of Ryan Connelly.

She is also survived by her sister Peg (Kevin) Robertson of Beach Park, Illinois and her brothers Pat (Cheryl) Dolan of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Tim Dolan of Sarasota, Florida, Mike (Barb) Dolan of Oak Park, Illinois and many nieces and nephews and dearest cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2014 and her mother and father Martin and Noreen Dolan.
