Obituary of Carol Burdick

Carol Burdick, 82, of Kenosha, WI and formerly of Las Cruces, NM, died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Grande Prairie Nursing Home in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Carol was born on April 23, 1935 in Chicago, IL.  Before moving to Las Cruses she was active in Salem United Methodist Church for many years.  She later became a member of Antioch Methodist Church, where she married Lauris Burdick on March 23, 1974.  She was employed at the original Gander Mountain and when they lived down south she worked at Landsan Homes as the activity director,  and was a co-owner of Golden Grove RV Park.  

She is survived by her children, Sherri (Dennis) Ohlinger, Pam Sanders, and Lane (Sandy) Burdick; grandchildren, Stanley, Tammy, David, Leah, Taylor, Delaney, Jason, and Katie; great grandchildren, Briana, Colin, Drew, Sarah, Brooke, John, and Jewel.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lauris; parents, Alfred and Marion Giddins; brother, Charles Giddins, and Laurie Young.

We wish to give our deepest heartfelt thank you to all the very special people who helped with Mom and Dad’s care over the years.  You know who you are and our eternal gratitude and love goes out to you.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Angie Alesci, officiating.  Interment will be private at a later date.
