Obituary of Lillian Hendrickson

Lillian Hendrickson, age 95, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. She was born January 1, 1911 in Crystal Falls, Michigan to John and Emma Huhtamaki. On December 23, 1927 she was married to John Hendrickson. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to cook and bake and always had a freezer full of baked goods to share at family gatherings. She was a member of the Zion Kitchen Band. She also enjoyed the Chicago Cubs. Lillian was an active member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waukegan. Her grandchildren have wonderful memories of playing cards with her and staying up very late. Lillian remembered every special occasion for everyone in her family. Survivors include one daughter Elaine (Jim) Van Proyen of Highland, Indiana; one son Richard (Charlene) Hendrickson of Waukegan, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren Daniel (Kim) Torkelson, Gary (Beverly) Torkelson, Sandra Scott, Judy Torkelson, Debbie (Jon) Erikson, Thomas (Karen) Hendrickson, Jean (Jerry) Zegar, Brian Hendrickson, David (Nancy) Hendrickson, Delrene Seegott (Wes Ange), Kay (Robert) Walker, Steven (Julie) Jenkins and Carol (Tim) Radosevich; twenty-six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1956; one son Gerald; one daughter Dolores Jenkins; one granddaughter Susan Abell; her brother Reino Maki; and her parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2006, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4th, with viewing from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. and services following at 2:00 p.m. at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3350 North Delany Road, Waukegan, Illinois, with Pastor Jeffrey E. Koth and Dr. Willard Blomquist officiating. Interment will be Monday, November 6th, at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Crystal Falls, Michigan, with Langenberg Chapel of Crystal Falls in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either STAR Hospice, or, St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church have been suggested.
