Obituary of Mary Jane Bown

Mary Jane "Peggy" Bown, age 90, of Waukegan, died on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. She was born September 3, 1916 the only child of the late John D. and Ella Allen. She worked at the Zion-Benton Hospital from 1959 until 1985. She also worked at the J.M. Club and their Credit Union in Waukegan. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Humility Church of Beach Park. Survivors include two loving daughters Kathleen (Henry) Koch Jr. of Green Bay, Wisconsin and Carol (Martin) Tyskling of Zion; one sister Agnes Rought of Washington State; eight grandchildren Henry (Sandy) Koch III, Lori (Gary) Salo, Veronica (Tim) Noe, Susan (Steven) Micklasz, Karla (Michael Jones) Koch, Heidi (Paul) Carrick, Elizabeth Kinsey and James (Jennifer Ezrow) Kinsey; nine great-grandchildren Nicole, Jacob, Travis, Rachael, Garrin, Abigail, Elizabeth, Gabrianna and Dalton; a special niece Sheryl Holmes; a sister-in-law Jennie Hogan; and a special family friend Rafael Salinas. Besides her husband Herbert, she was preceded in death by her step-mother Agnes Allen; a sister Gertrude Murphy; a grand-daughter Jean Ellen Kinsey; a son-in-law William L. Kinsey; and her first husband Lawrence J. Yost. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. Visitation will be Saturday at Our Lady of Humility Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to American Heart Association have been suggested. The Congdon Funeral Home of Zion is serving the family.
