Obituary of Gloria Breckenfeld

Gloria M. Breckenfeld, 85, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away after going through a long illness on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, surrounded by family. Gloria was born July 12, 1927, in North Chicago, IL, and married Herbert Breckenfeld on September 20, 1947. Her main life vocation was as a beautician and she also worked at the Winthrop Harbor Village Hall in the early 1970's. She loved traveling with her late husband, Herbert for his job. Her hobbies included crafts, crocheting, and knitting. Her 5 great-grandchildren were the lights of her life. Gloria's favorite past time was rocking babies. Survivors include her children, Kathleen (William)Wilemon and Joseph Breckenfeld, both of Winthrop Harbor, IL; daughter-in-law, Donna Breckenfeld of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Kristina (Micah) Eastvold of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Ryan (Michelle) Wilemon of Kenosha, WI, and Stephanie and Michael Breckenfeld; great-grandchildren, Taryn and Michael Wilemon and Kier, Brekken, and Evie Eastvold. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert; and son Paul Breckenfeld. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
