Obituary of Ron Stare

Ron Stare, 51, of Zion, IL went home to be with his Lord on March 11, 2013 at Vista Medical Center East after bravely fighting cancer for over 3 years. He was born November 3, 1961 in Sacramento, CA and grew up in Zion where along with his wife he regularly attended Christ Community Church. Ron was employed by Kern Heating and prior to that had worked in the roofing industry and was a baker. He was also a past member of Winthrop Harbor Alano Club. Ron enjoyed traveling with his wife Cheryl, riding their Harley, and enjoyed watching T.V. crime dramas. Survivors include his wife Cheryl; children Jason Stare and Jessica (Sean) Cartwright both of OH, Luke G. A. (Nicole) Stare and Kayleen Decker both of PA, Tara (Wes) Snow of IA, and Ed (fiancé Tiffany) Hanlon of Beach Park, IL; seven grandchildren Shelby Stare, Logan Stare, Knight Decker, Rayne Stare, Jared Hanlon, Claryssa Snow, and Madison Hampton; his mother Shirley Stare of Beach Park, IL; brothers Raymond (Dawn) Stare of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Rodney (Christine) Stare of Kenosha, WI; and his special friend Stephen Narrington of FL. He was preceded in death by his father Walt Stare. Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16th, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church with Pastor Ken Langley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Ron Stare Memorial Fund can be sent to: 38931 N. Lewis Avenue, Beach Park, IL 60099.
