Obituary of John Japuntich

John Stephen Japuntich passed away on March 19, 2013. John was born on April 7, 1931 in North Chicago, IL to Ivan and Kata (Militich) Japuntich. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Japuntich (nee Elfert) of 54 years; his parents; two brothers and two sisters. He was a Korean War era U.S. Army Veteran. He was an experimental technician by trade and retired from Outboard Marine Corporation in the mid-1990's. He is survived by his children, John (Sue) Japuntich, Lore (Herb) Case, Kenneth (Joan) Japuntich, Mark (Cathy) Japuntich and Kim Japuntich. John is also survived by thirteen (13) loving grandchildren, John (Jen) Japuntich, Tracy (Barry) Goldman, Heather, (Edmar) Nicolas, Herb (Amy) Case, Julie Case, Cheri (Josh) Fauser, Tatiana (Jim) Scalzo, Alan Japuntich, Stephen (Angela) Japuntich, Brandon Japuntich, Cameron Japuntich, Alyssa Bledsoe and Amanda Bledsoe. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Byron Prais of Lake Bluff, IL; sister-in-law, Nola Japuntich of Kenosha, WI; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM on March 25, 2013 at North Prairie United Methodist Church, 5000 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor (intersection of Kenosha Road and 9th Street). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the Boston Terrier Rescue. Rest in Peace, Dad.
