Obituary of Kathy Swedo

Kathy Swedo (nee Waller), 66, of Zion, formerly of Waukegan, died on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Grove At The Lake in Zion, IL. She was born April 18, 1946 in Chicago. Kathy was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church of Beach Park. She worked as an L.P.N. for 30 years in various area hospitals and nursing homes. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, John; children Brian (Debra) Swedo of Crestwood, IL, Brett Swedo of Antioch, IL, and Wendy (James) Sobecki of Zion, IL; five grandchildren Erik, Kristen, Noah, Joshua, and Alyssa; and sisters Dorothy (Charles) Groth of Grayslake, IL, Margaret (Tony) Curtis of McHenry, IL, and Susan Holley of Belvidere, IL. She was preceded in death by one sister Mary McGinnis; and her parents Theodore and Lillian Waller. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to Catholic Charities have been suggested.
