Obituary of Dale Miller

Dale H. Miller 86, of Waukegan, IL, formerly of Zion, IL, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. Dale was born March 11, 1927, in Mishawaka, IN, and married his late wife, Lillian Dickens on November 9, 1946, after serving in the United States Navy. His employment history is mainly working with automobiles, beginning as part owner of West Town Auto in Waukegan, then working for Wetzel and Turner in Waukegan, and fmally owning an Amoco Station in Waukegan. Dale was a self-taught handyman, who loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Donna Zeilbeck of Longmont, CO, Ginny (John) Kennedy of Zion, IL, Dan Miller of Waukegan, IL, Mickie Miller of North Pole, AK, Tim (Pam) Miller of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Wendy Bolin of Girard, KS, and Cindy Lampi of Waukegan, IL; grandchildren, David, Joseph, Michael, John, Mary, Brandon, Paul, Tony, Tim Jr., Debra, Ricky, Adam, Matthew, and Kirsten; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Nonna Simon of Lawrence, KS, Dolores (William) Zika of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Marcia (Pat) Cunningham of Mt. Home, AR, Nancy Elsbury of Gurnee, IL; brother, Glenn (Betty) Miller of Barlett, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; brother, Allan Miller; sisters, Virginia Miller, Loree Cooprider, Lois Dudley, Ina Bailey, and Barbara Springer; grandson, Matt Damitz; son-in-law, Rick Bolin; granddaughter-in-Iaw, Janine and Baby Kennedy; and father and mother, Cecil and Edna Miller. Funeral Services are private for the family. Memorial donations are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
