Obituary of Roger Taylor

Roger Lee Taylor, 66, of Waukegan, went home to be with his Holy Father on March 21, 2013. He was born on March 28, 1946 and was raised by his adoptive parents in Zion until moving to Waukegan in 1986. He served in the United States Army. He worked at Abbott Laboratory in North Chicago as a chemist, and also for Denny's Amoco in Waukegan. Roger played Judas Iscariot in the Zion Passion Play for over 15 years. Roger often said: "Performing is an escape for me, it was my father's work and now it is a part of me." Roger is survived by his children Nicole (Jim) Barbour, Darin (fiance Esmeralda Flores) Taylor, step-son, Ron (Kris) Levin, and step-daughter Renee Kooi; seven grandchildren Dominick, Gianna, Logan, Hannah, Makenzie, Madison, and Devin. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents Jabez and Edith Taylor, sister Mary Lynn Stried. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Humility Church,10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, with Deacon Bob Ochsner, officiating.
