Obituary of George Chase

George "Michael" Chase, 51, passed away suddenly on October 7,, 2013. Mike was born in New Jersey, raised in Ballwin Missouri, and moved to the Waukegan area 25 years ago. Mike was one of three children born to the George and the Mary Chase, was the beloved husband of Dina Chase, and adored father of Madelynn Chase. Mike will forever be remembered by his loving sister and brother, Michele (Gil) Bredow, and Mark (Kala) Chase, beloved nieces Taylor Russell, Avery Chase, and nephews Jack Russell, Aidan Chase, treasured mother-in-law Barbara Donohue, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Mary Chase, and sister-in-law Dana Donohue. Mike's passion was coaching girls softball, and he would spend countless hours finding new ways to teach and enhance skills and spark a passion for excellence through athletics. Mike touched the lives of many people, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way through his short illness. Friends are invited to attend visitation service on Friday, October 11th, at 2 pm followed by a service at 3 pm at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099. In lieu of flowers the family will be establishing a memorial fund to support the girls LakeShore Fastpitch Softball - the passion of Mike and his daughter Maddy.
