Obituary of Matilda Sutton

Matilda V. Sutton, 84, of Beach Park, IL died on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. She was born July 8, 1929 in Hazard, KY and has lived in this area most of her life. She was a member of Zion Church of Christ and she worked locally as a seamstress. Matilda enjoyed being Mom and Grandma to her family. Survivors include two daughters Brenda Fratus and Shirley Sutton both of Beach Park, IL; eight grandchildren Brad, Jimmy, Janet, Jackie, Sandy, Jerry, Jennifer, and Meredith; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters Georgia Allen and Mary (Donald) Roberts both of Zion, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Cam Lee Sutton in 1988; her son George Lee Sutton; two brothers Louis Brown and Paul Brown; one sister Agnes Heimes; one infant brother Robert Brown; and her parents George and Hettie Brown. Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2013, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., David Padfield officiating. Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
