Obituary of Alma Hickman

Alma Marie Proctor Hickman, 83, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Vista Medical Center in Waukegan, IL. She was born August 6, 1930 in Eldorado, IL and moved to Waukegan in 1945. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, IL. Alma was employed in housekeeping at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion and prior to that had worked at Goodyear in Lake Bluff. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Jerry; children Brenda (Tom) Prater of Zion, IL and Robert (Debbie) Proctor of Kenosha, WI; son-in-law John Hyndman of Butte, MT; seven grandchildren Nathan (Amy) Hyndman, Amanda (Jason) Brown, Dana Proctor, Danielle (Steve) Guillen, Laura Prater, Tammy Prater, and Daniel Perry; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lois Hafford of Waukegan, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Jack Proctor; daughter Carrie Hyndman; sister Dorothy Bowers; brothers Marvin, James, and Leonard Hafford; three infant siblings Leila, Thomas, and Norma Hafford; and her father and mother Allen and Clara Hafford. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24th, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 3001 - 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor, IL, with Dr. Michael Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to First Baptist Church Building Fund has been suggested.
