Obituary of Esther Brooks

Esther Brooks, 97, of Rochelle, IL, formerly of Zion, IL, died on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Rochelle Rehabilitation Center, Rochelle, IL. Esther was born June 1, 1916, in Chicago, IL. She was formerly employed as an accountant at Great Lakes Naval Base. Survivors include nieces, Sandra Kudelka of Rochelle, IL, Karen Riha of Lombard, IL, and Joyce (Robert) Rose of AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents, Ferdinand and Minnie Dietrich; and sisters, Adella Napolitan and Elsie Hentschel. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 1, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment will be private at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
