Obituary of Jerry Haines

Jerry Haines, 74, of Zion, IL died on Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home. He was born May 18, 1939 in Rice Lake, WI and had lived in this area most of his life. Jerry served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church of Beach Park. He was also a member of Laborers Union Local #152. Jerry was an active member of Waukegan Bowman Archery Club. His real enjoyment in life were his family, fishing, hunting, golfing and being with his buddies. He also enjoyed wintering with his wife in sunny Arizona. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty; four children Christina Haines of Phoenix, AZ, and Lance Haines, Mark (Laronda) Haines, and Philip Haines all of Winthrop Harbor, IL; four grandchildren Christy Stefanov, Tesa Haines, Mitchell Haines, and Harley Haines; four great-grandchildren Taylor Latza, Ava Latza, Ashley Latza, and Sophia Stefanov; one brother David (Pat) Haines of Zion, IL; and his sister-in-law Lana Haines of Pleasant Prairie, WI. He was preceded in death by one brother Michael; and his parents Leander and Helene Haines. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Waukegan Bowman Archery Club have been suggested.
