Obituary of Dan Faro

Dan Faro, 93,of Zion, IL, died on November 20, 2013, at St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley, IL. Dan was born September 23, 1920 in Alliance, Ohio. He retired from Commonwealth Edison after over 30 years of employment and then retired from Zion-Benton High School after working there for 10 years. Dan served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He belonged to the American Legion and was a former member of the Zion Moose. Dan enjoyed golfing, gardening, and keeping his lawn. He was a "Mr. Fix-It" of everything from cars to homes. Dan loved dancing and could dance all night. He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Linda) Faro of Plymouth, IN, David (JoAnn) Faro of Zion, IL, Michael Faro of Kenosha, WI; daughter, Cheryl Santiago of Zion, IL; grandchildren, David Faro Jr., and Michelle, Walter, and Christopher Faro; great-grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Amanda, Cheyenne, Joseph, Lydia, and Luke Faro; great-great grandchildren, Madison and Kayleigh, and daughter-in-law, Ingrid Faro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia; his parents; 3 brothers and 1 sister; beloved son, Walter Faro; granddaughter, Ami Faro; and grandson, Jason Faro.
