Obituary of Joseph Lokay

Lokay, Joseph 86, of Beach Park, IL died on Friday, December 20, 2013 at home. He was born January 5,1927 in Jessup, PA. He served with the United States Army in Italy during and after WWII. After being honorably discharged from military service, he moved to Chicago and finally to Beach Park in 1959. Joseph retired from OMC in Waukegan in 1989 after 23 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church of Beach Park and a former member of Church of St. Patrick in Wadsworth and he served as Lector at both churches. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary; children, Joanne (Jim) Bader of Wildwood, IL, Jeannette Lokay of Colchester, IL, Joseph (Sue) Lokaj of Deerfield, IL, Mary Lokay of Clinton, MO, Michele Phillips of Flora, IL, and Jean Lokay of Warsaw, MO; seven grandchildren, Brent (Carrie), Patrick (Tresca), Eileen (Bruce), Anthony, Christine, Matthew, and John; and two great-grandchildren, Aden and Mia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mihal and Anna Lokaj. Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2013, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
