Obituary of Barbara Albert

Barbara Louise Albert ( nee, Stefanini) 86, of Beach Park, IL passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL surrounded by her family. She was born October 25, 1927, in Summit, IL, to the late Anthony and Josephine Stefanini. Barbara worked at Midwestern Regional Medical Center for 37 years where she held a number of positions and retired as Materials Manager at the age of 83. Barbara had a deep abiding faith and devoted her life to God, her work, family and helping others. She possessed a benevolent spirit for helping others. She was one of the founding members of Cancer Treatment Centers of America's Assistance in Healthcare Foundation, and a member of Our Lady of Humility Church for 55 years where she volunteered her time as a room mother and was involved with the OLH Mother's Club and Women's Club. Barbara touched so many lives and was loved by everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by so many. Heaven truly has a new angel. Barbara is survived by her seven children, Janet (John) Jones of Zion, IL, Bruce (Mary) Albert of Leicester, NC, Karen (Richard) Dix of Antioch, IL, Russell (Janice) Albert of Barrington, IL, Mark Albert of Waukegan, IL, Marcia (Terry) Creekmore of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Scott (Michele) Albert of Byron, IL; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren with another one due in August; and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother Richard Stefanini, two sisters Julia Cooper and Charmaine (John) Mascetti Sr., a sister-in-law, Aleta (Dan) Nawrot; and a host of nieces and nephews. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Arthur Albert, a son James Albert Sr.; daughter-in-law, Pamela Albert; infant grand-daughter, Elizabeth Albert, nephews Wayne Albert, Frank Stefanini and John Mascetti Jr. She is also preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Josephine Stefanini; in-laws, James and Henrietta Albert; and brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Flo Albert. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Rd. Zion, IL. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
